The SR22 is a single engined four or five seat light aircraft build out of composites and is built in the USA. The aircraft is powered by a Continental IO-550-N 310hp engine in the SR22 version and a turbo-charged version of the Continental TSIO-550K engine in the SR22T model.Until 2003 the SR22 had a conventional cockpit but from that date all aircraft have a glass cockpit with the majority having the Garmin G1000 avionics setup.The aircraft also introduced the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS) which can deployed in an emergency to bring the aircraft to earth relatively gently.Another unique (in this class) feature is the use of a side-stick for flying controls.
