Diamond is a manufacturer of light aircraft based in Austria with manufacturing in Ontario, Canada. The company originally produced gliders and motor gliders. The first light aircraft developed was the DV20 Katana (now known as the DA20 Katana) which was developed in 1993, an improved version was built in Canada.
The Diamond DA42 Twin Star is a low wing twin engine four seat monoplane developed by Diamond Aircraft Industries and a version was the first twin engine diesel powered fixed-wing aeroplane to cross the Atlantic non-stop. Developed in the early 2000's it was certified in 2004.
The original aircraft was powered by the Thielert Aircraft Engines TAE 125 Centurion diesel engine. After the engine manufacturer went insolvent, Diamond certified the Austro Engine AE300 to power the aircraft. The aircraft are built in Austria and Canada.
DA42
The original aircraft powered by the TAE 125, production ceased in 2007. It has been replaced by the DA42 NG.DA42 L360
This is a variant powered by the Lycoming IO-360 petrol engine, aimed at the North American flight training market.
DA42 NG
Powered by the AE300 diesel engine and has a Garmin G1000 based glass cockpit.
DA42-VI
Introduced in 2012, this is an improved aircraft with a new propeller, cleaner aerodynamics and improved cruise speed performance. Powered by the AE300 and with upgraded Garmin G1000 NXi avionics.
The cockpit diagrams are drawn using visits to aircraft as well as from Diamond and Garmin documentation.
The images are vector graphics which means that they can be scaled up to real life size without loss of resolution. The prints can be produced to full life size whilst maintaing full resolution. The digital downloads are in Adobe pdf format and are also vector format. The downloads can also be printed up to full life size.The poster prints are printed on high resolution tear resistant vinyl so that they can be adhered to substrates. Alternatively they can be printed on medium weight paper, folded down to A3 size for transport.
